Front board along with the front free end paper are detached but present. Other wear to exterior includes minor rubbing to boards as well as bumping and chipping to spine ends and corners. Inscription from the author to front free end paper reads \"Presented to Robert J. Kerr by the Author. Baltimore Feb 28th\/54.\" Writing in pencil to front pastedown explaining that Edgar Allen Poe wrote favorably of McJilton in letters. First signature is detached but present.
